OVERVIEW

VK Music has unveiled its largest update in 17 years. The main change is the redesign of the VK Music app and the music section of VKontakte, which are now styled in a unified design. Key sections and the service's recommendation system have also been updated.


Over the past year, users' listening time of tracks from VK Mix recommendations has grown by 105%, while the number of tracks added daily per user in the VK Music app has increased by 40%. Users aged 14–18 add tracks from VK Mix most frequently — growth in this age group reached 50% over the year. The number of new releases featured in recommendations has increased 14-fold, and new tracks from artists now appear in VK Mix within no more than 1 hour of their release day.

MOTION‑SENSITIVE WAVE

The main elements of the VK Music logo are represented by moving "waves" with a gyroscope in the background. One part of the logo, blue, symbolizes something new and exciting; it represents the recommendations mode. The pink color is associated with the heart, with something personal—namely, the user's music collection.
