OVERVIEW

OVERVIEW

This is a spec piece I made for my portfolio — not a commissioned project. I wanted to push myself on texturing and lighting, so I picked a real object as reference: the Noerden LIZ smart bottle that I'd been given as a gift.

I modeled the bottle from scratch, working directly from the physical object — matching proportions, the subtle taper of the body, the lid geometry, and the sensor details on top. From there I moved into shading and lighting, which were the main focus of the exercise. The matte black finish was the trickiest part: getting the soft roll-off on the highlights without losing the texture of the surface took a lot of iteration on the material and the light setup.

Once the look was locked in, I built it out into a full product motion piece — staging, camera moves, and pacing designed around the bottle as the hero. To round it out, I brought on a sound designer to score and mix the spot, so the final piece works as a complete product film rather than just a render reel.
